Data Deletion Request

Your privacy matters to us. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from our systems at any time. This page explains how to make a data deletion request and what happens next.

How to Request Data Deletion

Method 1: Email Request

Send an email to our privacy team with your deletion request:

Subject: Data Deletion Request

Include:

  • Your full name
  • Phone number associated with your account
  • Email address (if different from sender)
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

Method 2: In-App Request (When Available)

Once our app launches, you'll be able to request data deletion directly from your account settings. Look for the "Delete Account" or "Privacy Settings" section in the app.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request data deletion, we will remove the following information from our systems:

  • Your personal information (name, phone number, email address)
  • Account profile and preferences
  • Usage data and analytics tied to your account
  • Any content you've created or shared within the app
  • Communication history with our support team
  • Marketing preferences and consent records

Information We May Retain

In some cases, we may need to retain certain information for legal or business purposes:

  • Financial records (for tax and accounting purposes) - anonymized where possible
  • Legal records if you've been involved in any disputes or violations
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked back to you
  • Records required by law or regulation to be retained

Any retained information will be limited to what's legally required and will be anonymized wherever possible.

Deletion Timeline

We'll acknowledge your request within 72 hours

Identity Verification

We may ask for additional information to verify your identity (2-5 business days)

Data Deletion

Your data will be permanently deleted from our systems (within 30 days)

Confirmation

We'll send you confirmation that your data has been deleted

Important Information

⚠️ This Action Cannot Be Undone

Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you've downloaded any information you want to keep before submitting your deletion request.

ℹ️ Account Access

After your data is deleted, you won't be able to access your account. If you want to use Gleam again in the future, you'll need to create a new account.

📱 Multiple Devices

Remember to log out of the Gleam app on all your devices after your data deletion is complete. You may also want to uninstall the app.

Alternative Options

Before requesting full data deletion, consider these alternatives:

  • Temporary deactivation: Disable your account without deleting data
  • Privacy settings: Adjust what data we collect and how it's used
  • Data download: Get a copy of your data before deletion
  • Selective deletion: Remove specific types of data only
